The average day as a split shift employee will begin at 11:00am. During the shift, you will be receiving credits on the returned material from customers. Other tasks include, pulling and staging orders for night shift, working the will-call orders, and helping with receiving from the vendor trucks. You will be cross trained in all warehouse areas and when needed will be moved to different sections to help. There will be required overtime during our busy season, and you will still receive 40 hours during our slower months. Generally, the shift will end around 7:00pm.
Your role on the split shift is extremely important as you help with will call and interact directly with customers. You are also the bridge between day and night shift, making sure day shift tasks are completed and staging is ready for the night shift. Palmer-Donavin takes pride in promoting talent from within the organization. Warehouse employees start at level 1. Upon mastering your job duties and maintaining a positive attitude, there are opportunities to be promoted to levels 2 and 3 (Team Lead). There are also Shift Supervisors and Operations Manager positions at each branch.
