The average day as a night shift employee will begin at 7:00pm. During the shift, you will be loading trucks for our drivers to make deliveries the following day. The role is team-oriented, but you will also be working independently pulling products into the staging area to be loaded. This will require you to be on and off the forklift switching between hand pulling and machine pulling the material. Loading the truck requires problem solving with other employees to fit all product onto the truck safely and efficiently. There will be required overtime during our busy season, and you will still receive 40 hours during our slower months. Generally, the shift will end around 3:30 am.
Your role on the night shift is extremely important because you are the last person to handle the product before the customer does. It is vital that the company deliver products accurately and without damage. As such, our night shift team is extremely valuable in contributing to our growth and success. The team is family-oriented and approachable with any questions you may have as you start out and as you continue your career at Palmer-Donavin.

Upon mastering your job duties and maintaining a positive attitude, there are opportunities to be promoted to levels 2 and 3 (Team Lead). There are also Shift Supervisors and Operations Manager positions at each branch.
