We are seeking a Yard Associate for our mid shift: 11:00am - 7:30pm / Monday-Friday (Overtime Required As Business Dictates).

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

 

As an EWP Yard I employee, you are responsible for correctly receiving, putting away, pulling, cutting, staging, and loading products and performing all functions safely. This is an advanced role with specific skills needed to perform your tasks accurately and efficiently. This role requires advanced forklift abilities, knowledge of reading tape measures, and using varying cutting implements (hand saws, circular saws, chainsaws) to build engineered lumber job packages. Safety is always front of mind when dealing with these specialized materials and procedures. This role is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions. Product being stored outside requires special attention to maintain its viability to be sold in premium condition to our customers (keeping product clean, covered, and dry.)

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare shipments of engineered wood products (EWP) in yard for delivery
  • Accurately  receive all EWP products from manufacturer using best practices 
  • Perform product handling assignments (with industrial forklift or manually) by pulling orders accurately for prompt shipment
  • Ensure accuracy of products ready for shipment and work with logistics / delivery personnel
  • Build out pallets of engineered wood products (EWP) based on work orders. Maintaining appropriate inventory levels 
  • Verify product quality and report/dispose of damaged or defective material
  • Verify receipts of incoming shipments
  • Use of various power tools (chain saws, handsaws, etc.) to cut wood to length based on order specification
  • Regularly use tape measurer and perform basic mathematical calculations (must be proficient with tape measurer) 
  • Assist other forklift operators and truck/tractor drivers in manually loading or unloading products
  • Maintains grounds in safe, neat, and orderly manner and comply with company safety procedures 
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required to meet the operational needs of the warehouse

Job requires frequent stooping, crouching, and bending; and lifting of objects weighing up to and over 75lbs, ability to endure long periods of exposure to outside temperatures
